Description

In June 2019, 15 St. Cloud State University undergraduate students majoring in Mass Communications will be embarking on an experiential study abroad learning opportunity in Denmark. Students will enroll in up to three courses while traveling and studying overseas.

They will visit Nordjyske Medier, the second oldest media company in Denmark, and network with media professionals. Students will also engage in a media workshop with award-winning Photojournalist Lars Horn and Nordjyske Medier Broadcast and Video Department Head Michael Koch.

Students will live in both Aalborg and Copenhagen with opportunities to explore the culture and visit historic sites, such as a Viking graveyard, villages along the North Sea, an ancient monastery, Music Park, and a Danish castle.

Studying abroad in Denmark through St. Cloud State began in the 1970s and is finally returning after a decade-long hiatus. This summer's Mass Communications Denmark opportunity renews the tradition of providing our students with a unique learning experience overseas.

Donations are applied to...

All proceeds raised through this crowdfunding campaign go DIRECTLY to the students. Funds are divided equally among the attendees to support the month-long experience.

Why are donations necessary?

The purpose of this crowdfund is to help offset the $8600 cost.

This cost includes: tuition for 6-9 course credits towards a degree in Mass Communications; airfare and overseas transportation; and housing costs in both Aalborg and Copenhagen. Students are responsible for their own food and living costs.

Raising funds through this platform will help students access this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Please consider supporting our students.
